Vinyl releases to come

Hello people out there....

We will be doing some very limited vinyl runs over the next few months just to keep the turntable well-oiled here at Kooky towers....

Under pretty heavy rotation will be

The Icypoles

The Icypoles grew out of a soundtrack to an experimental film and Isobel Knowles's love for 60s girl group garage bands and film music that creates a particular dark ambience. She work-shopped some band names with her best friends Tara Shackell and Kim White and together with them created the idea of The Icypoles.

Suddenly there was a new reason to write music and a small repertoire emerged. The songs featured on debut release, Promise To Stay represent this first collection.

Tara and Isobel were invited to join Architecture in Helsinki soon after The Icypoles started playing to audiences and there was a long pause in the development of the band while AIH toured the globe. But the idea stayed strong and more songs showed their faces over the years.

The Durutti Column

Vini and Co are still finishing off the finer points of Chronicle. In the meantime I am set to release the first Durutti column seven inch single for over twenty years.

More acts to be confirmed - watch this space!

Chronicle - Premiere CD & Comments

As per the last posting....The Chronicle premiere CD's that were left over have now gone I am afraid - thanks for the great support!!!

These will be posted out early next week due to heavy personal commitments.

A couple of pointers in general with the show CD's

1) They are CDR.
They have been professionally copied and litho printed. The mixes will be slightly different to the finished album. We had no time to run the album 'proper' and had to obligate the venue with the release.

2) 13 not 14 tracks...!
Wild Beast Tamed is missing........ er ......... we think!

3) Artwork
The images used may alter on the final release...

If you didnt get one - I am sorry - I did my best to sort everyone out...

Watch out for the blaggers on eBay !!

Vinyl Set - Limited runs

Hi all

We will be running a very limited set of vinyl releases and more details will be announced soon.

21 February 2011

Vini Reilly - Personal items still for sale

Vini is reluctantly selling a few items, some of which are quite unique with provenance, to finance his new audio-visual autobiographical album which will come out this spring/summer.

They are as follows:-

ROLEX - OYSTER PERPETUAL ¾ SIZE STAINLESS STEEL owned and worn by Vini and is in fine working order. Also it has recently been serviced by a Rolex dealer.

He bought it over fifteen years ago having being inspired to do so after meeting Tim Page who is an English photojournalist who made his name during the Vietnam War. Having being blown up several times the first thing he bought with his royalties was a Rolex Perpetual. Vini followed suit.

It originally cost over £2000.00 and serious offers only will be considered.

PLEASE NOTE IT IS A ¾ SIZE.

GRADO STATEMENT SERIES GS1000 – AUDIOPHILE HEADPHONES

"The 'Rolls Royce' of headphones."

John Grado makes the most sublime headphones and these are rated 5/5 everywhere.

'beautiful, comfortable, crystal clear, wider soundstage with tight bass'

'These cans offer uncompromising fidelity. It's surprising how much more there is on most recordings'

Such quality commands them to be just under £1000.00 new. They are less than three months old, in 'like new' condition. All packaging etc is present.

If you are genuinely interested in any of the above please contact me at:

kookydiscs@btinternet.com please put the words 'Vini Items' in the header.
